Dry eye treatment
Dry eye is a common condition where your eyes do not make enough tears, or your tears dry up too quickly. It can make your eyes uncomfortable and your vision blurry.

Some things can make dry eye worse, such as long periods of screen time, dry or windy air, some medications and wearing contact lenses.
What happens at a dry eye assessment
Your optometrist asks about your symptoms, your daily routine and the medications you take, then looks closely at the surface of your eyes, your eyelids and your tears.
Your optometrist then explains the options that suit you. These may include changes to your daily routine, eye drops or other treatments.

Your optometrist examines the front of your eyes, your eyelids and your tears.
Step 3: Your options
Your optometrist explains what may be causing your symptoms and the ways to manage them.
Step 4: Follow-up
Dry eye often needs follow-up visits to see how your eyes are doing.
